This week's installment pits the world's second greatest rock band
against the creator of West World. KISS was the major selling point of this movie. Sure they aren't as great as Twisted Sister but they sure wail on those wrinkly, old, depends-wearing Stones and make-up-wearing, purse-carrying Poison. With rocking tuneage like "Christine Sixteen", "Beth", "I Wanna Rock and Roll All Night", and that other tune they sing that really kicks ass. With this kind of tuneage, even a blind person could enjoy this movie. Right off the bat, the viewer is hit with some really primo line-butting and human pyramid-tumbling. This is were we are introduced to some really bad cats! These hooligans are named Chopper, Slime, and Dirty Dee (with strange, off-the-wall, names like that, one is led to believe their parents were most likely hippies). As the movie progresses, the hooligans are confronted by the park security. This is where we noticed that one of the cops was a bad guy in a Dukes of Hazzard episode we saw last spring. It made us glad | to see that one
who was making a living on the wrong side of the law turned his life around and
was now doing good instead of evil. We hope that this change of heart is an
inspiration for those wrong doers in Regina (and boy do we have a lot). As the movie progresses (yes, we used this at the beginning of the last paragraph, if you don't like it why don't you flip to the News section?), the hooligans are abducted by the not-so-evil but does eventually become evil, Doctor Deveraux. This is not really that important to the story line, but we figure if you wanted to rent this we could ruin at least part of the show for you.
A character that we have not yet mentioned is the main one, Melissa.
Melissa is dating this guy who works for the not-so-evil but does eventually
become evil, Doctor Deveraux. When Melissa's boyfriend starts snooping around the
not-so-evil but does eventually become evil, Doctor's laboratory. He is abducted
by the not-so-evil but does eventually become evil, Doctor Deveraux.Melissa looks all over for her boyfriend but can't get anywhere (No, she did not step in gum or get locked in a little room). To help find her boyfriend, she turns to the rock band that is playing at the park | that
week, KISS. Sure is a good thing KISS is playing at the park because all that
Poison could help her with would be smudging eye-liner, and all the Stones could
help with would be loss of bowel control. This movie explains why "KISS is the greatest band in the world" and where they get their super powers from. In truth they are much like the Power Rangers with each member or the band having a super-metamorphasized self: Catman, Space Ace, Demon, and Star Child. As the movie progresses (yah, yah, yah) KISS takes on the not-so- evil but does eventually become evil, Doctor Deveraux and his army of robots. First they fight wolf men on the roller coaster, then samurais in the auditorium, then the Monsters of Universal in the 'Chamber or Thrills.' All this leads up to the big duel, KISS vs. MechaKISS. The big fight occurs live on stage after MechaKISS performs their new tune "Rip Rip Rip and Destroy" which is not received well by the crowd because they don't recognize the tune. With lasers coming out of their eyes and fire out of their mouths and super Kung-Fu fighting, this is the ultimate UFC battle. It is a worthy note that this film had one of the industry's best stunt coordinators, Buddy Joe Hooker. Now for the questions: Will KISS defeat MechaKISS? Is KISS planing a comeback? Is KISS going |
